Dallenbach Wins Pikes Peak Open Wheel Division

The goal for Drivers Inc.’s Paul Dallenbach was to set a new record in the Open Wheel Division at the 2019 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The record proved out of reach, but victory did not.

Paul finished his run in 9:44.630, roughly nine seconds off the mark he was trying to beat. Still, it was a strong showing for the PVA 003 Dallenbach Special, and the day ended with Paul atop the podium.

Taking off for qualifying. Set a new open wheel record at 3:52.8. Ended up the qual rounds at 4th overall. 3 seconds covers 2nd-5th place overall. @pd42acura is just ahead and David Donahue is .4 behind me. Good company to be in. Of course our main focus is to win open wheel and set a new class record. But to finish as high overall as we can in an old dirt car is a personal challenge for us. Win #10 on Pikes Peak. Car was a rocket on the bottom, 3rd overall at the point but a fuel pressure issue the 2nd half of the road. Thanks to @hoosiertire @alpinebank #Rockvalleyoil Goebel Construction. Thanks to Loophole Racing.
