Tanner Foust is rounding into championship form.

The driver of the No. 34 Andretti Motorcross Volkswagen made his mark this past weekend at Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, winning the ARX Canada race in 5:05.92—less than a second ahead of runner-up (and fellow Volkswagen driver) Cabot Bingham.

For Tanner, the victory was especially satisfying, particularly because he felt like some of his competitors had the edge coming into the race.

“To be fair, the Subaru team were the fastest here,” he explained. “So it really felt like being an underdog all weekend as it has all this whole year, which makes the win even sweeter…It is an awesome feeling, I haven’t felt a victory so sweet in a really long time, so I’m loving it.”

He celebrated afterward accordingly.

After the fourth race in the ARX Championship Series, Tanner is just five points behind leader Scott Speed in the overall standings.
