When the race was over and the dust had settled—in the most literal sense—Rhys Millen was the overall champion of the 2021 NORRA 1000.
After five days in Mexico behind the wheel of the Rhys Millen Racing Jackal, Rhys finally had achieved a longtime goal of winning the arduous off-road rally. (He won his class, too.) When the race was over, Rhys took to Instagram to celebrate:
It turned out to be a great event for two more Drivers Inc. racers as well. Tanner Foust completed the first-ever NORRA 1000 for an electric vehicle, navigating his Volkswagen ID.4 to the finish line.
Although he didn’t win his class, Paul Dallenbach still enjoyed his third-place run with Chip Griffith in the Rhys Millen Racing Coyote. Paul posted the following clip highlighting a favorite—and jaw dropping—moment in the race:
